The Company

Robert Half Executive Search has been exclusively retained to find a Head of Finance, based in Pyrmont, to join this high-growth construction management business with a unique high-performance culture with leaders who empathise and energise within an extremely social, friendly and fun atmosphere that recognises and celebrates success. This business has experienced significant growth recently and their reputation is such that over 80% of their business comes from referrals or recommendations. Their mission is to make that 100%.

The Role

Due to this growth, there is a need for a commercially astute, system-savvy Head of Finance who has proven leadership and hands-on financial management experience. This person will partner closely with both the CEO and COO on financial and commercial operations of the business.

As a commercial business partner, the Head of Finance, will:

• Develop and implement daily/weekly/monthly financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws.
• Lead the financial planning and analysis function, including budgeting, forecasting, monthly management accounting and financial reporting.
• Oversee the accounting function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
• Manage cash flow and financial risk management.
• Analyse financial data and provide strategic recommendations to the executive team.
• Manage relationships with banks, auditors, and other external stakeholders.
• Manage a team of finance professionals and provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring.
• Oversee all taxes, statutory obligations and external reporting obligations. This includes PAYG, GST, FBT, income tax, payroll tax, superannuation etc.

Your Profile

You are a CA with 8+ years' experience in a senior financial analytical role or a broad finance role with strong budgeting and forecasting experience.

A hands-on approach is vital as the team is small and this role requires someone who is as comfortable in the detail as they are partnering with executive management.

An entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for identifying opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies would be ideal.

You will have proactive and accurate working capital management, financial reporting and forecasting experience.

You are an excellent communicator who can convey complex ideas, simply.
