About the position
  
Reporting to the General Executive of Technology Services and Information Security, the Head of Data and Data Governance is key to the success of ESSSuper’s digital transformation. Leading a small team of Data Engineers this role is responsible for all aspects of the Enterprise Data Warehouse, data management, integration with reporting and downstream systems. Alongside this you will be our Data Governance lead implementing the governance framework and strategy.
  
In this role you will be;
  • Leading the design, development and deployment of a new enterprise data warehouse
  • Managing the decommission of our current data warehouse
  • Engaging and influencing stakeholder from across the organisation and working alongside key suppliers and provide your technical expertise to find commercial solutions
  • Owning and implementing our data governance frameworks and strategies
  • Shaping and contributing to the Technology Service and Information Security strategic priorities
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to data warehouse operations, performance, and data integrity
  • Comfortable with operating strategically and being hands-on
 What we’re looking for
  • Significant experience with project management of a data warehouse
  • Ability to perform information management assessments (review of needs, data quality, data security) and create detailed strategy and roadmaps surrounding data warehousing, integration, and/or analytics
  • Demonstrable experience in the delivery of enterprise scale EDW solutions in Financial Services organisations
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a systematic and methodical manner to analyse and resolve complex issues.
  • Experience dealing with internal and external stakeholders with competing priorities.
  • Experience establishing and monitoring data management systems and frameworks particularly with third party service providers.
  • Experience and responsibility in managing performance and operating within an environment with compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Broad depth of knowledge of current and emerging trends in data management and systems integration.
  • Familiarity with the superannuation industry including an understanding of the key drivers of member outcomes and regulatory compliance across accumulation, defined benefit and retirement pension products and how these need to be managed to derive benefits from the service arrangement in place.
  • Familiarity with business efficiency-based tools and project management-based methodologies.
