Cultural Perspectives Pty Ltd in Redfern NSW, is seeking a full Public Relations Professional. The successful candidate must have an experience in communications in either public relations, media relations, events and communications, or public affairs. Salary of $86,520.00 + super for this full-time position.
You will undergo the following responsibilities and tasks.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Working in a client-focused team, committed to best practice when working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
- Communicating and working safely in cross-cultural environments.
- Supporting the coordination of communication strategies and public relations activities to meet client needs and achieve project outcomes.
- Contributing to daily meetings and liaising and updating clients on PR activities
- Identifying and taking advantage of earned multicultural media and social media
- opportunities to increase the profile of the client organization, project or campaign, to reach specified target audiences, and meet client needs
- Coordinating, designing and delivering events (both online and in-person).
- Writing (copywriting) and managing the production of information materials
- Independent desk-based research, information synthesis and analysis to support the development of campaigns on specific topics and communication of that information via information products and messages.
- Building client relationships and maintaining a network of media contacts, including journalists, influencers and industry spokespeople
- Conducting analysis of campaign and strategic outputs and preparing detailed written reports and verbal presentations.
- Monitoring media coverage including print, online, radio and social; Analyzing PR coverage and providing written reports.
- Establishing productive, professional relationships with clients, colleagues, suppliers, partners, and community members.
- Assisting with client services and ensuring strong communication with our clients.
- Contributing to tender, proposal and quotation responses.
Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualification in a related discipline (public relations, communications, or similar).
Experience Requirement:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
- Experience in communications in either public relations, media relations, events and communications, or public affairs.
- Direct experience working in a diversity-related field will be highly regarded.
Essential Skills and Requirements:
- An understanding of communications with and engagement of culturally linguistically and diverse communities.
- Demonstrated capacity or previous experience to implement communication and public relations strategies.
- Evidence of public relations skills such as: copy writing, marketing and reporting writing, social media, event management and client liaison skills.
- Demonstrated ability to show initiative and to think creatively.
- Demonstrated evidence of taking responsibility for achieving results and maintaining effective work behaviors under pressure
- An ability to work on several projects and tasks concurrently within tight deadlines.
- Strong writing, editing and verbal skills.
- Strong competency in all Microsoft Office applications particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint
