The Southern Public Bar and Bistro is a new local favourite in Phillip. We are looking to expand our team of high calibre chefs. We are open for lunch and dinner, seven days a week. for lunch and dinner. It is crucial that you are able to work a varied hours including nights and weekends.

Who we are looking for?

  • Individuals with strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • At least one year experience in a fast-paced and high-volume kitchen.
  • Relevant qualification in cookery or culinary arts.

You should be able to demonstrate:

  • Previous experience in a similar restaurant position.
  • Creative in designing menus and good culinary skills.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Be honest and reliable.
  • Knowledge of WHS and food hygiene requirements.

Job duties:

  • Assist in creating, planning, and improving menus.
  • Order and maintain inventory of food and kitchen supplies, ensuring it meets daily production needs.
  • Prepare and cook food according to recipes and monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
  • Manage and train Cooks and Kitchenhands in food preparation, cooking techniques and food safety.
  • Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure efficient food service.
  • Ensures compliance with hygiene, health and safety regulations in the kitchen.
