Position - Part-time 0.657 FTE (Monday to Friday, 5 hours per day)
Star of the Sea Catholic Primary School is a triple stream school catering for children in our 3-Year-Old Early Learning Centre (ELC) through to Year 6. The school currently accommodates nearly 740 students, with a dedicated team of teachers, teaching assistants and administrators. The school is situated in the Centre of Rockingham and is easily accessible from the suburbs of Rockingham, Safety Bay, Waikiki, Warnbro, Baldivis, Port Kennedy, Shoalwater and Cooloongup.
We’re seeking an enthusiastic, organised Food Safety Supervisor/Childcare Cook to join our OSHC and Early Learning Centre team. You'll be supported by the Business Manager, Nominated Supervisor, Care Centres 2iC and Centre Supervisors. A dedicated non-cooking day each week will allow time for admin tasks and cleaning duties.
Your Responsibilities Include
Plan and prepare daily meals and snacks that are nutritious, varied and appealing to young children Store, handle and serve food safely in line with food safety regulations and Centre policies Create menus that meet children's dietary needs, including allergies and cultural requirements Maintain a clean, organised kitchen and manage food and equipment inventory Work closely with Educators to support children’s overall well-being Share updates with the Leadership Team and implement changes related to your role as Food Safety Supervisor/Childcare Cook Provide kitchen support and relief cover when needed Complete weekly stocktakes and manage ordering of food and supplies Oversee SDS updates and maintain Centre documentation Conduct regular food safety audits to support Centre compliance and improvement Support Centre Supervisors in updating allergen and medical documentation
Selection Criteria
Experience cooking in a licensed childcare setting or similar. Understanding of child nutrition and food safety guidelines. Strong organisational and time management abilities. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment to continued professional development. Must hold or be willing to obtain a Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.al development. Successful candidate to hold a Food Safety Supervisor Certificate or willing to obtain.
Qualifications Required
Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (Essential) First Aid Qualification – HLTAID012/HLTAID009 (Preferred) Cookery or hospitality qualification (Preferred) Early Childhood or OSHC Qualification (Preferred)
