The Fleet Allocator – Linehaul is responsible for the daily scheduling of linehaul jobs and coordinating fleet movements to ensure deliveries are made safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with all relevant regulations.
As a key member of the Linehaul team, you’ll work closely with drivers, customers, and internal departments to manage freight movements, support compliance, and maintain a high standard of service delivery.
What you will be doing…
- Allocating linehaul jobs to drivers based on availability, freight requirements, and delivery timeframes
- Managing schedules in real-time to adjust for delays, disruptions, or last-minute changes
- Monitoring driver hours to ensure compliance with Basic Fatigue Management (BFM) and fatigue legislation
- Ensuring freight is safely loaded and secured in line with load restraint and weight requirements
- Providing accurate and timely ETAs/ETDs to customers and ensuring service levels are met
- Managing Proof of Delivery (POD) documentation and ensuring it is accurately uploaded and recorded
- Finalising jobs in the system and ensuring reporting and documentation is completed
- Maintaining regular communication with drivers to monitor progress and provide operational support
- Coordinating with the workshop to ensure vehicle availability and maintenance scheduling
- Supporting CoR compliance and contributing to audit preparation and reporting
- Maintaining accurate fleet movement records and assisting with performance reviews
- Identifying scheduling inefficiencies or issues and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
Do you have…
- Experience in a fleet allocation or transport coordination role
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Solid knowledge of transport regulations and compliance standards
- The ability to remain calm and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of fatigue management, BFM, and Chain of Responsibility (CoR)
- Familiarity with Dangerous Goods (DG), oversized or heavy freight (desirable)
- Confidence working with fleet dispatch systems and transport management platforms
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related systems
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
