Exciting opportunities are now available within Aveling Homes Estimating Team. We are currently recruiting for the following positions:

The Role: Trainee Estimator

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee Estimator to join our proactive construction team on a full-time basis. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience and support within the Estimating team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing base model costings and standard variation pricing.

• Support with sales, prestart, and siteworks costings under supervision.

• Aid in maintaining and updating the Master Price Book.

• Shadow experienced estimators to learn cost reconciliation and contract preparation.

• Learn and follow internal processes.

Skills & Attributes:

• 2+ years Scheduling experience with a project home builder.

• Strong willingness to learn and grow within the estimating discipline.

• Good attention to detail and numeric accuracy.

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Truth Engine

• Positive attitude, team player, and alignment with Aveling Homes’ Core Values.

The Role: Estimator

We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and enthusiastic Estimator to join our proactive construction team on a full-time basis. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate and efficient costing across a range of residential projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed costings for both custom and base model designs

• Develop and maintain base model costings

• Process deal acceptances, ensuring margins align with company expectations

• Prepare accurate siteworks costings

• Manage variation costings in a timely manner

• Complete prestart costings with precision

• Maintain and update price files to ensure accuracy and consistency

Skills & Attributes:

• 2+ years of experience in housing estimating with a project home builder.

• Sound knowledge of HIA Building Contracts and construction practices.

• Analytical and highly accurate with pricing documentation.

• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.

• Ability to work independently and efficiently.

This role requires strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a proactive approach to cost control and process improvement within the estimating function.
