The Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to join our Melbourne team as an Estimator.
In this role you will be a key member of the front-end team and will contribute to the success of Precise Plastering & Construction Group by delivering cost-effective and high-quality solutions across the residential and commercial fit out and refurbishment sectors.
Experience and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field.
Proven experience in fit out/construction estimating, with a minimum of 2 years' experience.
Familiarity with Australian building codes, regulations, and standards.
High level proficiency in construction estimating software's.
Certification in estimating (e.g., Certified Quantity Surveyor) is advantageous.
Responsibilities:
As an estimator, your main responsibility is to provide accurate cost estimates, pricing, and tender submissions, mainly for residential and commercial fitout projects. You will be the key person ensuring projects are cost-effective, competitive, and aligned with client expectations.
Analyse architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and scope of works to determine project costs.
Liaise with Builders / Clients for vetting the scope
Conduct quantity take-offs to determine the exact materials and resources needed.
Develop cost plans and budgets for different project phases.
Source pricing from suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring the best value while maintaining quality.
Review, compare and analyse quotes from multiple subcontractors and vendors.
Ensure all submissions comply with contract requirements and industry standards.
Assess potential risks and recommend solutions to mitigate cost overruns.
Proactively bring value engineering ideas to your estimates.
Work with project managers and site teams to optimize budgets and construction methodologies.
Maintain and update an estimation database with current material and labour costs.
Assist in contract negotiations and project handovers.
