Equipment Hire Manager

We are seeking a driven and experienced Equipment Hire Manager to lead the day-to-day operations and control of our hire business in Sydney.

This is a great opportunity to step into a leadership role with a growing team in the construction and equipment hire sector. You'll be responsible for managing fleet logistics, customer service, and team coordination—all while ensuring compliance and high equipment availability.

Task & responsibilities

What You’ll Do:

•    Oversee daily operations including equipment dispatch, returns, and maintenance

•    Supervise a team of drivers, yard staff, and mechanics

•    Manage customer bookings, quotes, and hire contracts

•    Monitor inventory, fleet availability, and service schedules

•    Ensure all hire equipment meets WHS and industry safety standards

•    Maintain accurate hire records and utilisation reports

Qualification & experience

What We’re Looking For:

✔️ Minimum 3 years’ experience in hire, logistics, or construction operations

✔️ Familiarity with construction or civil plant equipment

✔️ Strong team leadership and coordination skills

✔️ Valid C Class Driver’s Licence

✔️ White Card (Construction Induction Training)

✔️ Solid understanding of WHS procedures and equipment safety

✔️ Basic computer and admin skills (email, Excel, hire systems)

Nice to Have (but not essential):

•    Excavator licence 

•    Haulage truck licence

•    Cert III or IV in Business, Logistics, or Mechanical Trade
