Our Workforce Australia Services program provides tailored employment support to job seekers in the North-Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. We work towards the same, purpose-led goal of improving lives through dignity and choice. We have a new opportunity for you to join our team in Preston on a permanent full-time basis. 

Previous experience in employment services is preferred but not essential. Applicants must be familiar with the area and be able to connect with employers and job seekers in the Preston area.

The Role: 

  • Work closely with your job seeker caseload to develop their skills and become job ready by providing flexible and tailored assistance, including pre-employment and vocational support 

  • Liaise with employers to generate new employment leads 

  • Identify and address any non-vocational barriers to employment jobseekers may have and alleviate them through collaboration with support services 

  • Provide support and mentoring around job search activities, and career guidance 

  • Your driven nature will ensure you meet and exceed your targets by placing participants into employment 

  • Actively source employment opportunities from employer networks and advocate for your job seekers 

  • Ensure services delivered are compliant with contractual requirements and other relevant legislation 

  

About you: 

  • Prior experience in case management or similar is preferred but NOT essential – if you have the right attitude, we can teach everything else! 

  • Current driver’s licence and Working with Children’s Check (or ability to obtain one prior to commencement) is essential  

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with people from a diverse range of backgrounds 

  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed KPIs 

  • Knowledge and understanding of issues that affect job seeker engagement with education and employment 

  • Willing to learn and highly flexible and adaptable in a changing environment 

  • Passionate about helping people and making a difference in the community
