  • Security Cleared: You hold a Baseline clearance (minimum) and are ready to step into a role with immediate responsibility.

  • Resilient & Self-Reliant: This role comes with minimal handover and limited documentation-you'll need to find your feet quickly.

  • A Strong Leader: You've managed small teams before and know how to support people while driving outcomes.

  • A Skilled Communicator: Whether briefing execs or mentoring staff, you're clear, professional, and confident in your delivery.

  • Technically Capable: You have experience with FMIS systems (Finance One is a bonus), and can navigate policy, tax, and audit requirements with ease.

  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting or finance

  • Demonstrated success in APS finance leadership roles

  • Understanding of public sector financial frameworks, accounting standards, tax legislation and policy

  • Strong analytical, organisational, and strategic planning skills
