The role:
EasAbility Care is actively seeking seasoned Disability Support Workers for casual roles in Supported Independent Living (SIL) and community-based environments across various Adelaide locations. As a doctor-owned and operated NDIS provider, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional care to our clients.
Position Overview
We are in search of dedicated professionals experienced in supporting individuals with complex psychosocial and physical disabilities. Ideal candidates will demonstrate resilience, compassion, and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients. A valid South Australian Driver’s License and unwavering reliability are essential.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist clients with daily living activities, including meal preparation and personal care.
• Manage and accompany clients to appointments.
• Encourage and facilitate community engagement and participation in activities.
Candidate Requirements
• Positive, person-centered approach with experience supporting individuals facing mental health challenges, complex developmental trauma, and physical or neurological disabilities.
• Basic understanding of Trauma-Informed Practice.
• Proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
• Flexibility to work various shifts and a strong dedication to client welfare.
Essential Qualifications
• Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability Support, or a related field.
• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or DCSI Disability Screening.
• Current First Aid certification (issued within the last 3 years).
• Current CPR certification (issued within the last 12 months).
• Medication Assistance certification (completed within the last 12 months, including a face-to-face component).
• Valid South Australian Driver’s License, comprehensive vehicle insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Working with Children Check.
Desirable Attributes
• Qualification as an Enrolled or Registered Nurse.
• Training in Manual Handling and Management of Actual or Potential Aggression (MAPA).
• Experience working with individuals on the Autism spectrum.
• Training in Diabetes and Dementia care.
• Background in Aged Care.
