Job Title: Female Disability Support Worker – Melton Area

We are currently seeking a Female Disability Support Worker to assist participants in the Melton area. The ideal candidate will have a proactive, sports-oriented approach and be able to provide clear and effective communication, as accents may be a trigger for the participant. Must have experience with complex behaviors and mental health.

Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • In-home support, including personal care

  • Community access and participation

  • Cleaning and meal preparation

  • Medication prompting

  • Attending required sports training

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working closely with young children

  • A commitment to providing high-quality care and support in a friendly, encouraging manner

  • Ability to engage participants in meaningful activities and support their independence

As a Support Worker you will need to demonstrate the following and can work the following shifts:

Monday through to Sunday shifts available.

One on one supports for in home support, meal preparation, community access and participation.

Shifts more likely to be extended and become more frequent throughout the weekends.

Experience of working with people with disabilities and also complex clients with Alzheimer's and complex behaviors.

Ability to understand the vulnerabilities and needs of people with disability and the issues faced by their families.

Commitment to the welfare, rights, and personal development of people with disabilities

To understand and maintain confidentiality and privacy of clients

Maintain individual’s and service records in an objective manner which is clear and concise in accordance with Empowering Options' policy and procedures

DUTIES INCLUDE:

· Assisting to access the community and social programs- e.g. social outings/ recreation activities.

REQUIREMENTS

To be considered for this role you must have the below mandatory requirements:

· Hold Certificate or currently studying IV/III in Disability/or in Ageing Support/ Cert III individual support or have a level of understanding towards caring for people with disabilities.

· Current Certificate for First Aid and CPR

· Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)

·You must be a reliable, responsible attitude towards work and able to commit to regular hours.

· A current driver’s license and access to vehicle with a comprehensive insurance that you can use for work purposes and be available for shifts.

· Willing to complete both NDIS Orientation Module (free of charge) and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance

· Evidence of eligibility to work within Australia.

· You must have and/or willing to obtain the Australian police check
