We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Motor Mechanic to join our team full-time. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing diesel engines and related mechanical systems. This hands-on role requires technical expertise, diagnostic ability, and a commitment to workplace safety and quality service.

Task & responsibilities

· Conducts thorough inspections of diesel engines in Trucks, Trailers, B-Doubles Etc. and to detect issues and assess repair needs.

· Utilizes computerized diagnostic tools to identify mechanical and engine faults, interpreting diagnostic data to guide repairs.

· Disassembles engine units, transmissions, steering systems, and other mechanical parts to examine for wear, damage, or failure.

· Repairs or replaces defective components using methods such as welding, bolting, soldering, or riveting, as required.

· Rebuilds and reassembles engine systems, reinstalling overhauled engines and ensuring proper alignment and operation.

· Performs regular maintenance tasks such as oil changes, battery testing, filter replacement, and equipment lubrication.

· Keeps accurate maintenance and repair records using manual logs or digital systems.

· Communicates effectively with clients or supervisors to explain repair needs, estimated costs, and maintenance advice.


Qualification & experience

  • At least two years of full-time relevant work experience in Motor Mechanic field. 
  • Fully qualified – AQF Certificate III with at least 2 years on the job training.
  • Efficiency being able to diagnose faults and carry out general service of the fleet 
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when repairing and dismantling engine parts
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
  • Effective communication skills to liaise with customers
  • Heavy Combination  (HC) Licence (Preferred)
