About the Role:

In this role, you’ll take ownership of our design function, managing a small, collaborative drawing office. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of production drawings while driving innovation and aligning design outputs with customer needs and manufacturing capabilities. As Design Manager, you’ll play a critical role in mentoring and growing the design team and ensuring continuity and quality across all projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the design team, ensuring the efficient delivery of production drawings using Autodesk Inventor. 

• Oversee Autodesk Vault to maintain organised and accessible design data. 

• Collaborate with sales and production teams to align designs with customer needs and manufacturing capabilities. 

• Mentor team members, fostering professional development and skills growth. 

• Develop and maintain design standards and processes to ensure consistency and quality.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

• Tertiary qualifications in engineering or drafting (TAFE or university). 

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design, with leadership responsibilities preferred. 

• Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault. 

• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and design principles. 

• Excellent organisational and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
