Locating in Victoria Point QLD 4165. Little Red Dumpling Victoria Point is seeking an experienced Cook to prepare, season and cook food in our dining and catering establishment. Creating seasonal menus and leading the kitchen hands in meal prepping ingredients and condiments.

Task & responsibilities

  • Strictly follow food-safe practices and examining food items to ensure quality
  • Regulating temperatures of boiler, fryer, steamer, and our other cooking equipment
  • Preparing, seasoning and cooking food as per our menus and clients' requirements 
  • Stock Ordering from suppliers, receiving deliveries and stock control
  • Portioning  and plating food orders with sauces, condiments, and garnishes.
  • Storing and monitoring food in temperature-controlled freezers and fridges 
  • Maintaining required temperatures to ensure food freshness and following FIFO method
  • Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements
  • Plan seasonal special menus and estimate food requirements and cost budgets.
  • Assist the company in hiring, training other kitchen members and apprentices as needed.
  • Planning weekly staff roster according to the company's wage budget
  • Maintaining kitchen's cleaning and pest control schedules for maintaining optimal hygiene

Qualification & experience

Designation - Experienced Cook 

  • Certificate IV in in Kitchen Management (or equivalent trade qualification) – Essential
  • Strong knife skills and expert knowledge of asian culinary techniques
  • Ability to work independently under pressure and in a team-oriented environment
  • Solid understanding of kitchen operations, HACCP, and food safety regulations
  • Fluent in English; knowing to speak Mandarin is a plus 
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Cook in asian cuisine in a professional kitchen
  • Possess prior experience in working in high-volume and fast-paced restaurant settings
