Key Responsibilities

• Inspect ingredients and food items to ensure they meet freshness and quality standards.
• Cook, season, and prepare a diverse range of café meals including breakfast and lunch selections.
• Adjust and monitor the heat settings of ovens, grills, and other cooking appliances.
• Portion, arrange, and garnish meals attractively before serving.
• Store perishable items correctly in temperature-controlled environments.
• Cater to dietary needs by preparing meals according to specific nutritional requirements upon request.
• Track inventory and contribute to estimating ingredient requirements.
• Adhere to strict hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety practices.
• Provide guidance and training to junior kitchen team members when necessary.

Skills & Qualifications

• AQF Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery, or at least 1- 3 years of relevant work experience
• Proven experience working in a high-volume café or restaurant environment.
• Strong knowledge of food safety practices and ability to follow compliance requirements.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and as part of a team.
