We are seeking a skilled and motivated Cook to join our culinary team at Stonecutters Ridge Golf Club. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality meals for our restaurant, bar, and function spaces. This role requires a strong understanding of kitchen operations, a commitment to food safety and hygiene, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Task & responsibilities

  • Preparing, seasoning, and cooking a wide variety of dishes across breakfast, lunch, dinner, and function menus.
  • Planning and organising daily food preparation in coordination with the Head Chef and kitchen team.
  • Monitoring food quality during preparation and service to ensure consistency, taste, and presentation standards.
  • Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills, fryers, and other cooking equipment to ensure proper cooking and food safety.
  • Inspecting and cleaning food preparation areas, ensuring compliance with hygiene and safety standards.
  • Storing food properly to prevent spoilage and contamination and ensuring stock rotation (FIFO) is followed.
  • Monitoring portion sizes, minimising waste, and adhering to presentation standards.
  • Assisting in the development of menus and daily specials, considering seasonal availability and customer preferences.
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and kitchen policies at all times.
  • Supervising and training kitchen hands and junior staff as needed.
  • Assisting in the setup and execution of catering services for events and functions hosted at the venue.

Qualification & experience

  • Relevant qualification in commercial cookery or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of one year of experience as a Cook in a fast-paced kitchen or restaurant environment. 
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high culinary standards 
  • Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure.
