Aspley Central Tavern is currently seeking a Full Time Cook to join our friendly team. We are looking for someone who is hard-working, creative, organised, and passionate.

Customer Service:
• Respond to customer requests in a professional and timely manner
• Offer assistance to hotel customers
• Promote the Employer’s services and facilities to customers when appropriate
• Assist in maintaining customer service standards set by the Employer
• Ensure your work area is of the highest standards of cleanliness and good order
• Ensure that customers are served in a professional and diligent manner
• Provide fast and efficient service
• Ensure all meals are prepared and presented in a professional manner
Communication:
• Work closely with hotel management and the kitchen team
• Communicate effectively with customers and fellow staff
• Follow all lawful and reasonable directions from your Employer
• Work cooperatively
• Show respect towards and understanding of others

• Relevant Codes of Practice as adhered to by the Employer
• Food Hygiene regulations

Task & responsibilities
• Preparing, cooking and presenting a range of dishes ensuring a high and consistent standard of presentation
• Assisting in clearing the kitchen and maintaining a clean safe work environment at all times
• Maintaining stock control including ensuring portion control managed in line with recipes, minimising wastage, recording all wastage immediately and accurately, timely and accurate stock counts
• Assisting cooks of a higher grade
• Practising proper workplace health and safety procedures
• Other incidental and peripheral duties as requested by the Employer
Qualification & experience
• Certificate II in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification
• Demonstrated ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Demonstrated ability to safely and effectively utilise tools and equipment associated with a commercial kitchen
