The ACJV consortium, which includes the ACCIONA COBRA Joint Venture, has been appointed Preferred Proponent to design and construct the transmission line infrastructure for the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (CWO REZ), as part of Australia’s energy transition, outlined in the NSW Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap.

The new transmission infrastructure, which will combine high-capacity transmission lines, energy hubs and related infrastructure, will enable generators such as solar and wind farms and energy storage providers in the CWO REZ to connect to the electricity grid, providing a reliable supply of clean, affordable electricity for households and businesses across NSW while helping to meet the state’s newly legislated Net Zero targets.

Our Central-West Orana project is currently seeking a dedicated Contracts Administrator to share their expertise within our growing Procurement team. The role will successfully procure and administer Supply and Subcontractor Agreements (upstream or downstream where relevant) to provide commercial support and protection to ACEREZ D&C. The Contracts Administrator will aid in the implementation of effective commercial practices required for corporate governance for the ACEREZ D&C JV.

Initially this position is located in our project office in Sydney CBD before transitioning to a roster-based arrangement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and manage contract agreements, variations, extensions of time, delays and all other correspondence where relevant

  • Ensure all agreements are compiled in a clear and concise manner, consistent with any negotiated and / or approved position, and are executed by subcontractors or the like prior to commencing works

  • Review and audit existing supply and subcontract Agreements

  • Terminate completed Agreements and/or renegotiate those that are not beneficial to ACEREZ D&C.

  • Review and renegotiate, if possible, the Supply Agreements and Day Work contracts of the Project

  • Maintain and review a register of all subcontract correspondence (variations, EOTs, etc.).

  • Prepare Scope of Works with Project Manager / Engineers and ensure documents comply with ACEREZ D&C’s Procurement Management Plan

  • Manage tender evaluation and recommendation process.

  • Review completed subcontract documentation prior to issuing to relevant internal departments for approval.

  • Coordination of Subcontractor kick-off meeting post contract award

  • Ensure all subcontracts are scanned into the system and ensure documents are securely stored in accordance with business protocols.

  • Monitor subcontractor performance against contractual terms in conjunction with the construction team.

  • Develop and maintain beneficial relationships between ACEREZ D&C, suppliers and subcontractors, the principal and any other key stakeholders.

  • Review progress claims and issue payment schedule within the timeframe stipulated in the Security of Payments Act (SOPA)

  • Ensure strict adherence to the ACREREZ D&C Project Authority Matrix

  • Process subcontract variations in accordance with relevant procedures outlined in the Subcontractor Management Plan. 

  • Assess and respond to all Subcontractor claims in a timely manner.

  • Process accruals and payments within the relevant timeframe

  • Highlight and monitor any likely over-run to the Project Manager (Eg: when sum of progress claims are approaching the contract cap)

  • Investigate cost reduction strategies and initiate the best options, in consultation with the Project Manager

  • Monitor day labour hours and report to the Project Manager weekly.

  • Monitor the cost to complete for all Contract Agreements

  • Assist with accruals and cost control when required.

  • Provide support during all Commercial audits, as directed.

  • Suggest and implement procedures and strategies to gain efficiencies in contract management.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • 2+ years’ experience in a Commercial or on-site Engineering role (Essential)

  • Experience working on major construction projects (Desirable)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, Commerce, Business, Law or associated discipline

  • Work Safely in Construction (White Card)

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Highly developed Microsoft Office Suite skills

  • Detailed knowledge of the Security of Payments Act (SOPA)

  • Strong ability in contracts management, cost control and forecasting
