About the role
Join the Protecht Group as a Commercial Finance Manager in our vibrant Sydney office. In this full-time role, you will play a critical role in driving Protecht’s financial strategy. Leveraging your expertise in strategic planning and financial analysis, you will work closely with cross functional teams and to enable data-driven decisions, enhance financial planning, and contribute to the strategic growth of the company within the SaaS business model.
What you'll be doing
Prepare, analyse, and maintain budgets, forecasts, and financial models for SaaS business operations.
Track and report revenue streams, ensuring accurate recognition in line with SaaS-specific accounting principles.
Analyse financial and business data to uncover trends, variances, and areas for improvement and provide actionable insights for decision-making.
Monitor and report on key performance metrics such as MRR, ARR (Annual Recurring Revenue), churn, and customer acquisition costs (CAC).
Continually review metrics and ensure alignment to performance drivers, recommending changes as needed.
Perform cost-benefit analyses to evaluate the impact of business decisions and identify cost optimisation opportunities.
Act as a commercial business partner and collaborate with various departments (Sales, Marketing, Product, Operations) to align financial plans with business goals.
Provide analysis and recommendations for pricing reviews and new product pricing strategies.
Generate and present regular financial reports, variance analyses, and strategic insights to senior leadership, key stakeholders and the Board of Directors.
Identify financial risks and recommend strategies to mitigate them while ensuring compliance with regulations.
What we're looking for
7+ years of experience in a commercial finance management role, preferably within a SaaS business or technology company.
High level of financial commercial acumen.
In-depth understanding of SaaS financial metrics.
Advanced skills in financial modelling, forecasting, and budgeting.
Experience in subscription-based pricing models and understanding of customer lifecycle metrics.
Demonstrated experience in financial reporting to different groups.
Advanced skills in Excel, including data analysis and complex modelling.
Proven ability to provide strategic financial insights and drive commercial decision-making.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information into actionable insights
Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA, CFA, or equivalent financial certification.
