The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Excavator Operator to operate heavy machinery on civil construction sites throughout Sydney. This role requires precision, safety awareness, and the ability to work efficiently on a variety of projects, including earthworks, trenching, and site preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate excavators (ranging from 1.5T to 30T+) to perform digging, grading, trenching, and material handling.
- Conduct pre-start checks and basic maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Interpret site plans and follow instructions from supervisors to meet project specifications.
- Work alongside ground crews to ensure accurate and efficient excavation.
- Adhere to all workplace health and safety (WHS) regulations and company procedures.
- Assist with general labor tasks on-site as required.
What We’re Looking For:
- Valid Excavator ticket/license.
- Proven experience operating excavators on civil construction projects.
- Strong understanding of site safety protocols and equipment operation.
- White Card (Construction Induction Card) – essential.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing site conditions.
- Reliable, punctual, and a proactive team player.
- Valid driver’s license (HR license a bonus).
- Additional machinery tickets (e.g., skid steer, dozer, roller) highly regarded.
