We are seeking a skilled and detail-orientated Civil Engineering Technician to support our engineering and project teams in the planning, design, and maintenance of civil infrastructure projects. This role plays a crucial part in translating technical plans into on-site results, ensuring compliance with specifications, and assisting in project delivery.

Salary: $76,515 to $120,000 plus Super depending on experience
Task & responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist civil engineers in the planning, development, and execution of concrete and infrastructure projects.
- Prepare detailed technical drawings, site layouts, and design documentation using AutoCAD or similar software.
- Conduct site inspections and tests to monitor work progress and ensure compliance with standards, specifications, and regulations.
- Collect and analyse data such as soil composition, environmental impact, and material performance to assist engineering decisions.
- Assist in setting out works on-site, including levels, alignment, and grades, using GPS and surveying tools.
- Liaise with site supervisors, contractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of project requirements.
- Maintain project documentation, records of inspections, quality assurance, and test results.
- Support in estimating materials, costs, and timelines for upcoming civil works.
- Participate in safety assessments and implement appropriate workplace health and safety procedures.
- Provide technical advice and support to construction staff and junior technicians.
Qualification & experience
Essential Criteria:
- Relevant Engineering Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree or higher
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience
- Proven track record of successfully managing construction projects on time and within budget.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, construction methods and materials
- Proficiency in engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit)
- Sound understanding of Australian Standards and relevant NSW regulations
- Experience in site-based roles and interpreting technical drawings
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams
