The Civil Engineering Draftsperson will support the engineering and project delivery teams by preparing detailed technical drawings, models, and documentation for civil and structural projects, especially in the domain of post-tensioned systems and concrete structures. This role ensures all designs and plans are accurate, compliant with Australian standards, and aligned with project specifications and deadlines.

Job Duties
- Prepare detailed technical drawings and plans for structural and civil components of construction projects including slabs, beams, columns, and reinforcement detailing using CAD software.
- Draft site layouts and formwork plans in accordance with engineering specifications and post-tensioning requirements.
- Interpret and convert engineers’ rough sketches, technical specifications, and calculations into accurate and clear drawings.
- Revise drawings and documentation based on feedback from engineers and project managers.
- Liaise with engineers and project stakeholders to clarify design requirements and resolve issues.
- Perform basic engineering calculations (e.g., loads, material quantities) as required to support drafting accuracy.
- Maintain drawing registers and ensure all documentation complies with company standards and relevant Australian regulations.
- Assist with preparation of as-built drawings and construction documentation packages for project delivery and council submission.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate closely with the structural engineering team to deliver accurate, cost-effective, and timely drafting outputs.
- Ensure compliance with project scopes, technical requirements, and Australian codes and standards (e.g., AS 3600).
- Maintain version control and quality assurance procedures on all drafting outputs.
- Proactively identify design inconsistencies or technical problems and escalate them for resolution.
- Contribute to ongoing process improvements in drafting practices and documentation workflows.
Qualification & experience
- A Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Drafting, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a civil/structural engineering drafting role
- Experience working with AutoCAD and/or Revit (or other relevant drafting software).
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering plans and translate them into technical drawings.
- Familiarity with structural and concrete detailing standards used in Australian construction projects is highly desirable.
- High-level proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar).
- Understanding of structural engineering principles and post-tensioning systems.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in drawing production.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Strong organisational and time management capabilities.
- Understanding of WHS practices and construction site documentation.
