We are seeking a qualified and experienced Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing construction and maintenance of building structures and infrastructure.

Task & responsibilities

  • Interpret architectural drawings, engineering specifications, and project documentation to determine construction requirements, scope, and objectives.
  • Plan, design, and oversee the construction of structures and infrastructure such as roads, bridges, drainage systems, railways, and other civil works.
  • Conduct site inspections, feasibility studies, and geotechnical investigations, including the collection and analysis of soil and rock samples to assess load-bearing capacity and structural suitability.
  • Assess present and future travel flow patterns and population trends to inform the design of transportation systems, including highways, railroads, urban transit, airports, and logistics terminals.
  • Analyse structural systems to evaluate performance under static and dynamic loads, and design frameworks to prevent collapse, excessive deformation, vibration, or structural failure.
  • Establish construction methods, materials specifications, and quality control standards; draft and interpret detailed construction procedures and technical documentation.
  • Organise and coordinate site labour, materials delivery, plant and equipment, and develop schedules for sequencing construction activities.
  • Prepare comprehensive engineering reports, cost plans, budget estimates, and project timelines, ensuring effective financial and operational control.
  • Monitor design modifications, assess their impact on cost and progress, and measure, evaluate, and negotiate variations and contractual changes.
  • Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project requirements are clearly understood and met.
  • Ensure all construction and site activities comply with relevant safety standards, environmental regulations, and industry codes.
  • Utilise civil engineering software tools and related platforms for technical design, modelling, and project documentation.
  • Supervise on-site construction progress, identify and resolve technical issues, and ensure that projects are delivered to specification, on time, and within budget.

Qualification & experience

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in related field.
  • Minimum of 1-year relevant work experience in a similar field.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian building codes and regulations.
  • Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Current driver’s licence preferred.
