Centre Chef – Dripstone Children's Centre (Brinkin, NT)

We’re on the hunt for a passionate and community-minded Centre Chef to join our warm and welcoming team at Dripstone Children’s Centre in Brinkin, NT.
In this role, you’ll be at the heart of our service – preparing and serving wholesome, nutritious meals based on the Wholesome Child Menu, catering to a range of dietary needs and cultural preferences. More than just a kitchen role, this position is about connection. You’ll form meaningful relationships with our children, families, and team, supporting healthy eating habits and creating a positive food culture across the Centre.
Plan and prepare delicious, nutritious meals and snacks for children, aligned with the Wholesome Child philosophy.
Ensure all meals meet allergy, anaphylaxis, and dietary requirements.
Collaborate with educators and the leadership team to promote healthy food practices.
Interact warmly with families, sharing menus and food knowledge in a friendly, approachable way.
Maintain a spotless, safe kitchen in line with health, hygiene, and food safety standards.
Manage food ordering, inventory, and vendor relationships.
Be a visible and engaged part of our community — not just behind the scenes!
Culinary qualification (Certificate in Commercial Cookery or similar).
Food Safety Supervisor certification.
A deep understanding of children’s nutrition and food safety regulations.
Confidence in managing allergies and special dietary needs.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a kitchen solo.
A people-person who enjoys connecting with families and being part of a team.
Current First Aid, CPR, Working with Children Check, and Child Protection Training (or willingness to obtain).
