Whiz Kidz Early Learning Centre & Preschool is seeking a Centre Cook, to manage our 51-place service in Northmead. This is a permanent part-time position working 3 days per week, 7am - 1pm (or similar).
As our Centre Cook, you will be greeted each day by our children who, in turn will become your toughest critics. We are looking for someone who loves cooking for children and families, enjoys creating healthy and interesting, and sharing your passion for food and cooking with children.
The successful candidate will take pride in having empty plates returned to the kitchen, knowing children have enjoyed their food.
In this role, you will create delicious meals for our children aged between 6 weeks and 6 years, ensuring the highest hygienic standards and best practice food safety are always upheld within the kitchen.

Qualifications & experience:
Certificate in Commercial Cookery - desirable
Experience in a similar setting - desirable but not essential
Sound keyboard and computer literacy skills to complete online stock orders.
The ability to adjust meals to cater for different dietary requirements
An understanding of food safety
Have a flexible and enthusiastic attitude
Qualifications in Food Handling, or willingness to obtain.
Good time management skills are essential to ensure that mealtimes run smoothly and that the kitchen is managed efficiently.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
Preparing morning tea, lunch & afternoon tea for up to 51 children a day.
Menu planning, stock control, preparing shopping lists, maintaining food safety
Completing weekly orders in accordance with the menu while remaining within allocated budgets
Adhering to the National Quality Standards of food preparation
Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen
Basic food preparation tasks
Completing and recording the required food/temperature checks.
