Child Care Worker

We are looking for a dedicated, caring, and enthusiastic Child Care Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring experience and passion for early childhood education, helping us deliver high-quality care and learning experiences. You will play a key role in supporting children through the Early Learning Framework and ensuring their supervision within a safe, supportive, and engaging environment.

Task & responsibilities

• Support the delivery of age-appropriate, play-based learning programs and daily routines.

• Prepare and conduct activities that encourage children’s development, creativity, and social interaction.

• Assist in organising materials, equipment, and environments for children’s educational and recreational activities.

• Guide children’s behaviour positively and support their social and emotional growth.

• Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, group activities, rest periods, and mealtimes to ensure their safety at all times.

• Maintain children’s hygiene and wellbeing, including assisting with toileting, handwashing, and healthy meal routines.

• Entertain and engage children through storytelling, games, music, and play-based experiences.

• Keep simple daily records relating to children’s activities, routines, and any incidents.

• Communicate with families and contribute to a welcoming and inclusive environment.

• Work collaboratively with other educators to ensure smooth operation of the room and centre.

Qualification & experience

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or ACECQA approved qualification

• Experience working with children aged 0–5 years in an early childhood or similar setting is desirable.

• Understanding of children’s developmental needs and the ability to follow established routines and programs.

• A warm, patient, and caring nature, with strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Current and State relevant Working With Children’s Check (or be willing to obtain the WWWC)

• Commitment to health, safety, and hygiene practices.
