VP Kebabs & Grill Restaurant Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Chef to take charge of our culinary operations, with a strong emphasis on delivering premium-quality kebabs, flame-grilled dishes, and a wide array of flavourful menu options. The role encompasses end-to-end kitchen oversight, including meal preparation, presentation aesthetics, stock and supply management, and strict compliance with food safety and sanitation standards. Task & responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor kitchen staff while ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Cook a diverse range of kebabs, grilled items, and other dishes in line with the restaurant’s quality benchmarks.
  • Consistently monitor the taste, appearance, and quality of all food before it is served.
  • Respond to customer feedback related to food and implement improvements as needed.
  • Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and compliant with strict food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Oversee stock levels, manage inventory efficiently, and place supply orders when necessary.
  • Work closely with management to create and refine menus, incorporating seasonal ingredients and daily specials.
  • Ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations during busy service periods.
  • Reduce food waste and manage kitchen expenses by optimizing preparation methods and controlling costs.

Qualification & experience

  • Diploma in Commercial Cookery or related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working as a Chef in a fast-paced kitchen.
  • Proven experience with kebabs, grills, and Middle Eastern/ Mediterranean cuisine is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and lead when required.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Creativity and innovation in developing new menu items and presentation styles.
