Task & responsibilities

Menu Development and Food Preparation:

● Design and update seasonal menus using fresh and locally sourced ingredients

● Oversee food preparation and maintain consistently high-quality standards in taste and presentation

Kitchen Operations Management:

● Manage day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency and smooth service

● Monitor food and labour costs while implementing waste-reduction strategies

● Ensure full compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations

Team Leadership and Training:

● Lead and mentor kitchen staff to maintain a productive and motivated team

● Schedule rosters and ensure adequate staffing for peak service periods

● Train staff in food preparation, presentation, and safe kitchen practices

Quality Control and Customer Engagement:

● Conduct regular quality checks on dishes to ensure consistency

● Actively seek and respond to customer feedback to improve menu and service

Inventory and Supplier Relations:

● Manage stock control and supplier relationships to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement

● Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet operational demands

Continuous Improvement:

● Stay informed on industry trends and customer preferences

● Bring new ideas to enhance the dining experience and increase customer satisfaction


Qualification & experience

● Diploma or Certificate iv in Commercial cookery or a related field is preferred.

Work Experience Required:

● Minimum of 1 year of experience as a chef role.

● Proven leadership skills with a track record of managing a kitchen team effectively.

● Experience in fine dining or upscale restaurant environments are highly desirable.
