Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Full-Time Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role and hold a diploma-level qualification in culinary arts or a related field. Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes to the highest standard.
Develop and enhance menu items to keep offerings fresh and exciting.
Ensure kitchen operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Manage inventory and order supplies as needed.
Collaborate with the team to ensure exceptional customer service.
Demonstrating creativity and imagination in the choice of ingredients and prepared
dishes.
Ordering food and stock from local suppliers, ensuring the use of fresh, locally
sourced ingredients at competitive prices.
Advising kitchen staff on cooking procedures, utilizing expertise and experience.
Conducting weekly stock takes and implementing a waste management program.
Ensuring a stock rotation procedure is followed.
Maintaining Souva Restaurant’s high standards of food quality.
Participating in weekly meetings with the Director and front-of-house managers to
discuss food quality, preparation, and service.
Motivating kitchen staff to ensure job satisfaction and morale remains high.
Preparing, cooking, freezing, and preserving food according to restaurant
specifications.
Enforcing safety and hygiene regulations.
Supervising and training new staff to meet high standards.
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Chef in a similar establishment.
Diploma-level qualification in culinary arts or a related field.
Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
