As part of our Retail Team, this role is responsible for driving category thought leadership to unlock growth for Inghams and our customers. We are looking for a category champion that understands shoppers, has a customer centric mindset, and is able to support and influence internal stakeholders whilst partnering closely with our customers.

This role will require some travel to customer and supplier sites, so a driving license will be required.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensure category growth and objectivity are at the heart of all interactions with the customer
- Be the go-to expert for retailers to grow the category, develop strong relationships with the customer
- Develop and execute category strategy aligned with business objectives, market trends and customer opportunities to drive category performance
- Develop and present retailer category reviews and workshops supported by insights to deliver to the category strategy and drive growth for our retail partners
- Leverage consumer and category insights to guide product innovation and promotional strategies
- Be a key partner/ internal champion to internal stakeholders by providing category and shopper insights that support strategic decision making, solve consumer and shopper problems and leverage category opportunities
- Be the Category champion throughout Joint Business Planning with key retailers, helping to shape the key initiatives that will drive category growth
Key requirements:
- 5 years’ experience in FMCG Category, Consumer or Shopper Management
- Ability to combine strong strategic thinking and analytical ability, whilst thriving on using new knowledge and data to create meaningful and useful intelligence
- Intimate understanding of retail partners and their KPIs
- Ability to influence and build relationships with cross-functional teams to build, agree and execute category growth strategy
- Strong problem-solving ability & commercial nous - capable of understanding the impact of decision making on the business
- Curiosity to question and the courage to answer
- Passion, positivity and flexibility
- Working knowledge of Retailer scan data (Circana or Nielsen), Homescan/ Panel or Quantium
- Degree in Marketing or Business-related discipline
