We are seeking a qualified and experienced Carpenter specialising in formwork and shuttering  to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful applicant will be responsible for all aspects of carpentry work on various construction projects.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Construct and Install Formwork:

  • Build and install timber formwork systems for concrete slabs, columns, beams, and walls.
  • Create precise shuttering to shape and support wet concrete until it sets.
  • Position and secure formwork on the front and back of capping beams to hold concrete in place.

Timber Cutting and Assembly:

  • Accurately measure, cut, and assemble timber using hand and power tools.
  • Prepare and place timber frames in line with design and engineering specifications.

Concrete Preparation Support:

  • Carry out blockouts and void forms within slabs to accommodate post-pour installations.
  • Ensure all carpentry elements are securely fixed to support the pouring and curing of concrete.

General Carpentry and Site Support:

  • Perform all-round carpentry tasks, including repairs and reinforcements required during the concreting process.
  • Coordinate with steel fixers and concreters to ensure smooth construction workflow.

Interpret Technical Drawings:

  • Read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and formwork shop drawings to ensure accuracy in construction.

Use of Tools and Safety Compliance:

  • Operate tools and equipment safely and efficiently, complying with WHS/OHS standards at all times.
  • Inspect and maintain carpentry tools and formwork systems.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work collaboratively with other trades (including general labourers, steelfixers, and concreters) on-site.
  • Report progress, potential issues, or required modifications to the site supervisor.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • A minimum of 1 years’ experience as a Carpenter in similar field
  • Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong understanding of building codes and safety regulations.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Good physical fitness and manual dexterity.
  • Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently or in a team.
