About the Role

We are currently seeking an Auto Electrician Apprentice (2nd, 3rd or 4th Year) for our Rutherford workshop with experience in auto electrical services associated to the transport, automotive, emergency response and mining industry. You will be undertaking repairs, maintenance and new electrical installations with a range of duties. You will have a practical, hands on approach with excellent attention to detail surrounded by a professional and caring environment.

Key Duties

  • Demonstrated safety first work ethic and professional attitude

  • Ability to read plans and produce detailed quality work

  • Provide fault finding, repairs and maintenance on light and heavy vehicles, on-highway trucks, emergency response vehicles

  • A broad range of electrical repairs from batteries to new electrical installations

  • Ability to adapt to changing work requirements   

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

  • Willing to both contribute and learn from others; and

  • The ability to build clear and open communication with Management, Supervisors, Leading Hands and team members.

The key team member we are looking for needs to have:

  • Appropriate qualifications, need to be able to provide an accurate TAFE transcript

  • Current drivers licence

  • Proven ability to provide quality customer service outcomes

  • Proven problem solving ability with strong work ethic and attention to detail

  • Awareness of Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements

  • A strong commitment to safe work practices; and

  • Experience in transport or heavy mining equipment will be highly regarded
