The Client Glenwood Athletics & Sports Club in Glenwood, Sydney is a state-of-the-art athletics and sports club that is focused on training of athletics events and daily recreational activities facilitate by accredited athletics coaches and former national athletes for future competitions & recreational training through activities such as running, games, conditioning. They are looking to hire a full-time Athletics Coach ( Track & Field) to join their passionate & Accredited Professional Coaching team at their Multi

This is a full time role with an annual salary set between $75,000 to $80,000 plus superannuation and will be based in in Glenwood, Sydney. Responsibilities Coach and train athletes to improve their athletic performance, physical conditioning, and technical skills across various track and field disciplines

Evaluate athletes’ performances during training and competitions to identify strengths, weaknesses, and areas for targeted improvement Design and implement individualized training programs tailored to each athlete’s goals, event specialties, and development needs Develop strategic plans and competition tactics, focusing on optimizing performance based on the athlete’s capabilities and competition analysis

Instruct athletes on proper techniques in events such as sprints, distance running, jumps, and throws, ensuring consistent execution and efficiency Analyse performance metrics, video footage, and feedback to refine coaching strategies and improve training outcomes Motivate and support athletes to maintain discipline, a strong work ethic, and a positive mindset in pursuit of their athletic goals

Supervise training sessions to ensure exercises are performed correctly, safely, and with full engagement from all athletes Identify and recruit promising athletes, while also supporting the development of assistant coaches and support staff Organize athlete participation in local, regional, and national athletics meets, managing registrations, logistics, and schedules

Promote athletics programs to attract new participants and foster a culture of continuous improvement and high performance Provide development pathways for young athletes, ensuring access to competitive opportunities while prioritizing their well-being and long-term growth Enforce the rules of competition during training and events, maintaining fairness and safety across all activities

Collaborate with fellow coaches, meet officials, and sports organizations to ensure smooth event execution, rule compliance, and athlete support Requirements To be successful in this role, you must have:

Completion of a Diploma of Sports Management Minimum of 3 years proven experience in athletics either as a trainer or coach Minimum of 3 years’ experience in in designing and implementing fitness and conditioning programs tailored to competing professional athletes

Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience in analysing athletes’ performance using video footage or performance data Minimum of 3 years proven experience in working with young athletes, leading teams or managing athletes at different skill levels Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, Experience in recruiting and managing additional coaching staff and support teams Demonstrated ability to motivate athletes

Certification in first aid and knowledge of safety protocols in a sporting environment
