About the Role

We have an excellent career opportunity for a highly experienced Associate Director, Product Development to join the Digital Workplaces Team of the Premier’s Department.

The Associate Director, Product Development will lead a team of developers and engineers to design, develop, and maintain secure, innovative digital solutions for the Premier’s Department, The Cabinet Office, and the Ministry.

This role oversees the entire software development lifecycle, focusing on delivering user-centric and scalable solutions while adhering to best industry practices. Key priorities will include developing software solutions and enhancing existing products, driving agile methodologies, enhancing product roadmaps, and collaborating with stakeholders across IT, cybersecurity, and business units to ensure seamless integration and delivery.

You will join our Digital Workplaces Team within the Digital & Information Branch in the Corporate Services Group. This collaborative team is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of critical software products, fostering innovation, security, and operational efficiency.

We're Looking For

  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in .Net, C#, Python, and MS Azure, with knowledge of Angular and Node a plus
  • Leadership & Team Management: Proven experience in leading cross-functional Agile teams, guiding product development, enhancement, and support
  • Software Engineering: Strong background in secure coding practices, building scalable and high-quality software solutions
  • Agile Methodologies: Expertise in implementing and driving Agile processes, including SCRUM, to ensure efficient and effective product delivery
  • Stakeholder Management: Demonstrated skills in managing relationships with key stakeholders across IT, cybersecurity, and business units
  • Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields, or equivalent professional experience
