Job Title: Associate Adviser 

Reports to: Wealth Adviser 

Team: Advice 

Employment: Full time, office-based at least 4 days 

Location: Melbourne (currently South Melbourne, relocating soon to Melbourne CBD)

3. THE ROLE 

The Associate Adviser provides exceptional client service to Private Wealth clients, working closely with advisers to oversee the end-to-end advice delivery process. An Associate Adviser provides professional and proactive support to enhance client relationships, ensuring the advice team is well-equipped to deliver quality advice in line with agreed service standards. The Associate Adviser also plays a key role in the implementation of advice and investment solutions, maintaining effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. 

Core responsibilities 

Client Service 

  • Provide excellent client service to support client engagement and retention. 

  • Attend client meetings with advisers and conduct follow up and advice implementation. 

  • Respond to client queries and support advisers with reporting and advice documentation. 

  • Identify, manage and follow up internal lead generation and business initiatives for growth. 

Compliance 

  • Ensure all Continuing Professional Development is completed. 

  • Maintain product, technical and compliance knowledge/requirements in accordance with regulatory requirements. 

  • Maintain up to date knowledge of legislative changes that may impact on the accurate production of advice documentation. 

Stakeholder Management 

  • Maintain professional relationships with key internal and external business partners and service providers. 

  • Maintain clear and open communication with clients including keeping them informed about the status of their investments. 

  • Work closely with advisers to seek guidance, share information, and ensure that advice provided aligns with the overall business strategies and the overarching regulatory framework. 

  • Accurately process client transactions and reporting, conduct portfolio reviews, prepare advice documents, collateral, and provide ongoing service to Private Wealth clients. 

  • Collaborate on internal projects as required. 

Business Operations 

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records within the Clime CRM and financial planning software. 

  • Review/prepare the SoA/RoA and submit to advisers for review and revision(s). 

  • Assist with financial analysis to support client recommendations and decision-making. 

  • Collaborate with advisers, and other team members to ensure cohesive and efficient workflow. 

  • Ensure efficient and effective advice documentation turnaround times are maintained. 

  • Identify opportunities to maximise efficiencies and streamline processes with a continual improvement mindset. 

  • Attend and provide assistance for client events, seminars, or workshops to enhance client engagement and retention. 

  • Ensure processes and procedures are documented. 

The person 

  • Good understanding of the financial services industry. 

  • 2-3 years’ experience in client services/administration within financial planning environment. 

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. 

  • Experience with financial planning software such as XPlan. 

  • Strong attention to detail. 

  • Ability to manage time effectively. 

  • Client-centric individual with high standard of professionalism and integrity. 

  • The ability to work collaboratively in a professional team. 

  • Technical knowledge of current legislative, industry and corporate standards. 

  • Determination to deliver on personal goals and objectives. 

Qualifications 

  • Tertiary qualification in law, accounting, commerce, financial planning or other relevant degree. 

Desired experience 

  • Prior exposure to investment solutions/investment markets.
