Dementia Specific Care Assistant

We are currently seeking care assistants to join our team of Dementia Friends and provide high-quality care for residents living with dementia. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring that each individual receives the care, attention, and respect they deserve, creating a safe and nurturing environment where they can thrive, and ‘live well with dementia’.

Location

This role is at our impressive Shorehaven Facility is situated in the vibrant, beach side community of Shorehaven, Alkimos. This Facility offers an innovative costal design with state-of-the-art equipment to make your life and the life of our residents easier.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide compassionate care to residents with dementia, focusing on their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
  • Assist with personal care, including dressing, feeding, and mobility support.
  • Build meaningful relationships with residents to enhance their quality of life.
  • Support and encourage residents to engage in activities that stimulate their mind and promote independence.
  • Monitor and report any changes in residents' condition to the senior care team.
  • Work as part of a dedicated and professional team to maintain a supportive and caring environment.

Key Requirements:

  • A genuine passion for dementia care and working with elderly individuals.
  • Previous experience in dementia care or a related field.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with residents, families, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and a kind, caring approach.
  • Flexibility and the ability to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development in dementia care.
