The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for a Parliamentary Executive Level 1 Assistant Director Security Operations within Security Operations Branch.
The Security Division is responsible for the provision of security services, building security, access management, security capability asset management, Australian Parliament House (APH) and DPS security policy, security risk management, resilience planning and emergency management.
The Assistant Director Security Operations works within the Security Operations Branch. Security Operations works with many different Australian Parliament House (APH) stakeholders, including the Australian Federal Police (AFP), the Department of the House of Representatives, the Department of the Senate, the Ministerial Wing Support, and other entities within the Parliamentary precincts.
As the Assistant Director Security Operations, you will provide strong leadership to the Parliamentary Security Service (PSS) and provide support to managers and staff across the wider Security Branch. You will be responsible for playing a key role in the implementation of applicable policy, procedures, coordination and delivery of Security Branch activities and the sustainment of a 24/7 workforce.
To be a successful candidate, you will need well-developed leadership capabilities, strong written and interpersonal communication skills, sound problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities and be able to work with stakeholders at a variety of levels. You will be able to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment and enjoy juggling multiple competing and constantly evolving priorities.
