Buyers are the key to any successful retailer. They shape the future of our product lines to create value for our business and provide the best retail experience for our customers. At EB Games, our Assistant Buyers enjoy working alongside our Buyers to purchase the newest and coolest video games and pop culture products. 

Primary responsibilities:

• Acting as the first point of call for the buying hotline

• Reporting and analysis of inventory, sales performance, budget, etc.

• Supporting management and Buyers with pricing, marketing, promotional and display strategies

• Raising purchase orders

• Communicating with suppliers and vendors

• Monitoring and tracking shipment and deliveries

This role is based at our Store Support Centre in Eagle Farm, Brisbane. Applicants must either live in Brisbane or be willing to relocate for the role.

What are we looking for?

To be successful in this role you must have:

• Confident and articulate communication skills, both written and verbal, and high attention to detail

• Ability to work closely with the cross functional teams, build effective relationships and manage stakeholder expectations 

• Problem-solving and prioritization abilities

• The energy and vitality to work effectively in a fast-paced, busy environment

The following would be advantageous (but not required):

• Experience in buying, planning, merchandising or data analysis

• Management or leadership experience
