About The Role of Assistant Accountant

We are actively seeking a skilled and motivated Assistant Accountant to join our finance team. As an Assistant Accountant, you'll play a pivotal role in effectively and efficiently supporting Navarra's finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily bank reconciliations
  • Month-end accounting including reconciliations and processing of accruals, prepayments, and subsequent journals.
  • Accounts Payable.
  • Maintaining up-to-date accounts receivable files and records.
  • Resolving any account and/or invoice queries from clients and suppliers
  • Providing regular updates, reviews, and ad hoc reports to management.
  • Assisting in preparation of monthly management reports
  • Maintaining Fixed Assets Register
  • Assisting with the preparation of budgeting and forecasting reports
  • Assisting in the implementation of new systems
  • Assist in preparation of FBT, GST, and BAS return for the Manager to review before submission.
  • Perform billing, collection, and reporting activities in accordance with Company requirements.
  • Preparation of procedure manuals
  • Opportune Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting / Commerce, or equivalent
  • 2+ years previous experience in similar positions within a professional office environment, or equivalent.
  • Experience dealing with confidential and organisational information.
  • Sound computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and databases.
  • Experience Hospitality
  • High degree of confidentiality.
  • Strong ability to transfer information, skills and knowledge to other staff members.
  • Good financial and commercial acumen.
