About the opportunity

AUSTRAC is expanding its impact as Australia's Financial Intelligence Agency and Anti-money laundering regulator. As we undergo a major digital transformation, we are investing in you, to contribute your insights and innovation to better combat financial crime and deliver modern, data-driven regulatory services. We are looking for an APS6 Specialist, Service Design to contribute to a variety of service design initiatives, working closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders to enhance the quality and effectiveness of our services.

Whilst being involved in meaningful, user-focused work, you will be helping to uplift service design capability across the agency - not only in digital projects but in broader organisational initiatives as well.

The key duties of the position include:

As the APS6 Specialist, Service Design, you will:

  • Support the implementation and transition of new or improved services through process design, documentation and user engagement.
  • Translate complex information to clear, actionable insights to address service delivery challenges.
  • Create service blueprints, journey maps and reports to communicate improvements aligned with AUSTRACs strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with partners, peers and users to gather insights and enhance service experiences.
  • Work with stakeholders across the agency to design and improve end-to-end services.
  • Use research methods to understand user needs and inform service design recommendations.
  • Contribute to drafting business improvement proposals and help coordinate key agency initiatives.
