This 4-year fixed-term contract is based within the Assets and Facilities Service Unit. Apprentices will gain exposure to all elements of Plumbing through on the job and technical training.
As an Apprentice Plumber you will have an opportunity to learn a trade that focuses on the installation, maintenance and repair of irrigation, drainage, plumbing services of city buildings and assets.
With on-the-job experience at The City of Newcastle you will build key skills such as; preparing, testing and maintaining pipes, fixtures, fittings and gas whilst benefitting from the supervision and leadership of experienced tradespeople.

What is next?
If you are successful in progressing to the next stage of our recruitment process, you will be required to attend 1 x group assessment centre for a 3-hour period between Tuesday 27th May - Thursday 29th May 2025. Pre-employment medicals will take place on Monday 9 – Tuesday 12 June.

Remuneration: $36,753.76 + 17.5% annual leave loading yearly payment + 11.5% Superannuation per annum for a 38-hour week
