Our Opportunity

Work Location: Perth - Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people of the Noongar nation.

Roster: 4D/4N/8R 12hr shifts - 7-month fixed term/secondment opportunity


Reporting to the Mine Control Supervisor, the Builder is responsible for maintaining the Mine model for optimal efficiency, scheduling and maintaining system updates, providing technical assistance to Mine Controllers and liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure system support issues are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Input & maintain mine model, surface and associated designs into Minestar.
  • Spatial model to be updated daily to ensure accurate assignments.
  • Ensure machine files and configurations are up to date.
  • Ensure high level of data integrity before daily reports are compiled.
  • Run standard operational reports.
  • Identify requirements for report data, create new Minestar reports.
  • Analyse all data and drive continuous improvement by all departments.
  • Input and maintain system users and associated security accesses.
  • Train and mentor supervisors and mine controllers on spatial data maintenance.
  • Application administration.
  • Application configuration management.
  • Information management and reporting.
  • Back-office asset and license register.
  • M* data interpretation and analytics.
  • Log and maintain Technical Support Cases.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Strong technical understanding of fleet management and IT systems together with that of scheduling ideally obtained through College / Tertiary studies.
  • Minimum of 3 years working with Fleet Management systems such as MineStar or similar at advanced user level.
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment operations.
  • Knowledge of mine workplace safety requirements and procedures.
  • Ability to make effective, intuitive decisions under pressure.
  • Willing to work shift in remote locations.
  • Sound problem solving.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
