DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Participating in planning the care of individuals.
• Assisting patients with their mobility and communication needs.
• Assisting patients with care needs such as showering, dressing and eating.
• Prepare meals, feed where required, and assist with special dietary needs.
• Perform domestic duties including cleaning, laundry, and shopping to maintain a safe home environment.
• Provide mobility and transfer assistance, using hoists or aids in line with manual handling plans.
• Observing and reporting patient condition changes, and reporting care complaints.
• Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, family members, and support workers to ensure a holistic approach to care.
• Assist with medication reminders per care plans and basic health monitoring under delegation.
• Support residents with daily activities and encourage social engagement.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment for residents.
• Foster positive relationships with residents, families, and the care team.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
• Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Home & Community or Disability) or higher (or equivalent overseas qualification) or at least one year of relevant experience (ANZSCO Skill Level 4).
• 12 months full-time or equivalent part-time (at least 20 hours per week) or casual basis employment with proven experience is required in Aged / Disability Care Services.
• Previous experience in personal care, disability support, or a similar role is essential.
• A valid Australian driver’s license is required.
• Strong interpersonal skills, a compassionate, patient approach.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A valid National Police Check, Working with Children Check and other NDIS entry-level certificates are required.
• First Aid, Manual Handling and CPR Certificate is required.
WORKING HOURS
Full-time position, 38 hours per week.
