Task & responsibilities
- Compilation of financial data required for the preparation of quarterly business activity statements, annual profit & loss statements, and balance sheet.
- Preparation of Financial Statements for entities complying with Australian Accounting Standards and other statutory requirements
- Provide assistance with the preparation of Business plans and in providing general advisory services.
- Provide assistance in conducting due diligence reviews relating to purchase and sale of businesses
- Provide assistance with the preparation of audit work papers relating to not-for-profit associations and self-managed super funds.
- Preparation and lodgement of quarterly Business Activity Statement (BAS) Returns for individuals, trusts and companies
- Preparation of Individual, Trust, Partnership and Company Returns
- Assist clients with the registration of Trusts and Companies and creation of self-managed superannuation fund entities (including bare trusts required for loan purposes).
- Provide advice on client financial performance, cash flow, and cost control
- Liaise with ASIC and ATO on behalf of clients, as required
Qualification & experience
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or a related field (or equivalent overseas qualification)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar accounting role
- Strong knowledge of Australian financial regulations and tax compliance
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero, or similar)
- High attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and time management abilities
- Client rapport builder
