About the Opportunity

As our business continues to grow, we have a great opportunity for an experienced Accountant to join our Finance team in Sydney, on a permanent full time basis.

As our Accountant you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the financial integrity of TBH by delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with taxation and statutory requirements, and supporting informed decision-making through financial analysis and budgeting. You’ll also contribute to the implementation and maintenance of robust accounting systems and internal controls, while offering guidance on performance and compliance matters to support strategic and operational objectives.

You’ll be responsible for;

  • Developing and applying budgetary and accounting policies in line with regulatory standards and strategic goals
  • Preparing accurate and timely financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Conducting audits, financial reviews, and investigations, including analysis related to mergers, acquisitions, and insolvency matters
  • Analysing operational costs, income, and expenditure to support cost management and efficiency improvements
  • Ensuring financial reports meet statutory compliance and governance requirements
  • Providing financial and taxation advice, including the preparation and lodgement of tax returns for the TBH Australian legal entities
  • Liaising with banks, brokers, and external advisers to manage financial and investment arrangements
  • Implementing and optimise accounting systems, including advising on suitable computer-based solutions
  • Maintaining and strengthen internal control systems and financial procedures
  • Assessing financial risk and forecast cash flows for capital investment and business planning initiatives

What you’ll bring

As our successful candidate you'll bring:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (essential)
  • A minimum of 3-4 years’ experience in a similar role and function
  • CPA or CA qualification (or working towards) preferred
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and taxation
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and relevant legislation
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems (e.g. Powerbi reporting, AX 2012, SAP)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and compliance
