Barrington Accounting Tax Advisory is a Sydney based accounting firm who tailors financial solutions and services to the needs and circumstances of our clients. Located in Belrose, we specialise in providing accounting, tax and advisory services for small to medium businesses and their related individuals, entities and super funds. We also offer independent valuation and forensic services to legal and accounting professionals.
We are currently seeking the services of a suitably qualified Accountant who possesses the following skills, qualifications and knowledge:
Role description:· Prepare comprehensive documents for tax return filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance.· Conduct thorough balance sheet reconciliations.· Strong knowledge of everyday running of accounts, including payables and receivables.· Execute monthly general ledger reconciliations and reporting.· Engage in the month-end process, including reporting, accruals, prepayments, and journal entries or bookkeeping.· Strong knowledge of rigorous compliance with accounting standards and manage audit requests efficiently.· Understand how to balance the fixed asset register, payroll, BAS preparation, and lodgements.· Create detailed financial reports for management, advising on financial efficiencies.· Ability to interpret financial information to achieve the desired outcome.· Reconcile bank and credit card statements with precision.· Identify and resolve financial discrepancies effectively.· Assist in the preparation of budget forecasts.· Address ad hoc duties as required, demonstrating adaptability and problem-solving acumen.
Qualifications required:· A minimum of 5 years of experience in both financial and management accounting working in a public practice (preferred, not essential).· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or demonstrated significant work experience in a similar role.· CPA or CA equivalent certification.· Profound knowledge of MYOB or Xero accounting software.· Strong understanding of accounting principles and standards.· Previous experience as a Bookkeeper.· Experience using AI technology.· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.· Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.· Team player, practical and logical thinker.· Strong interpersonal skills, including soft skills and client communication.
