Position Overview
TRACKS Integrated Services is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced A Grade Electrician for the Tindal projects we are currently pursuing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial electrical work, with proven experience in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex electrical systems in industrial environments.

Project Details & Pay Structure

  • Roster: 3 weeks on, 1 week off (Drive-In, Drive-Out)
  • Transport: MEC supplies a mini bus for weekly mobilisation
  • Pay Rate: Casual rate $57/hr
  • Site Allowance: $8/hr
  • Penalties: 1.5x after 8 hours and on weekends
  • Site Hours: Monday to Saturday, 60-65 hours per week
  • Duration: 6-9 months, with potential for ongoing work

Key Responsibilities & Tasks
Installation & Commissioning:
  • Install, test, and commission high and low voltage electrical systems, including underground and overhead reticulation, RMU, and transformer installations.
  • Set up communications, security, and building management systems as part of commercial and government projects.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
  • Conduct routine and preventative maintenance on industrial electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex electrical faults using advanced testing equipment and technical documentation.
Project Delivery & Quality Assurance:
  • Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to plan and execute electrical installations and repairs.
  • Ensure strict adherence to local, state, and national electrical codes and safety standards on every project.
  • Maintain high-quality workmanship with an emphasis on safety and efficiency.
Team Collaboration & Leadership:
  • Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and other trades on multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior electricians and apprentices.
  • Keep clear and accurate records of work performed, including project logs and maintenance reports.
Specialised Industrial Tasks:
  • Execute electrical works in challenging environments, including remote, hazardous, and Defence-related sites.
  • Contribute innovative solutions for complex industrial installations and infrastructure upgrades.

Qualifications & Experience
  • A Grade Electrician certification with current, valid licensing.
  • Demonstrated industrial experience in sectors such as Defence, mining, or large-scale commercial/government projects.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of electrical codes, safety practices, and industry standards.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team in fast-paced environments.
  • Relevant safety certifications (e.g., OSHA or equivalent) and a valid driver’s license are essential.
