Childcare Worker (Educator)

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the design, planning, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of children’s educational programs based on an approved learning framework.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with staff, children, and families to foster a supportive and nurturing environment.
• Support the daily routines, transitions, and programs for babies, toddlers, and/or young children, ensuring their needs are met.
• Ensure compliance with service policies and national and/or state-based legislation, adhering to all regulatory requirements.
• Promote the safety, health, and wellbeing of staff, children, and visitors in a positive and inclusive environment and supervise children during recreational activities, ensuring safety and enjoyment.
• Support children’s learning, development, and wellbeing, creating opportunities for exploration and growth.
• Prepare materials and equipment for educational and recreational activities.
• Manage children's behavior and support their social development.
• Plan and lead activities that engage children in learning and play and entertain children through games, storytelling, and reading.
• Ensure children's hygiene by encouraging habits like hand washing and brushing teeth.

Qualifications: 

• At least a Diploma in Child Care Support, Early Childhood Education or similar field. 
• Previous experience in early childhood education is highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage with children, families, and staff.
• Knowledge of child development and learning frameworks, as well as relevant legislation and compliance requirements.
• A passion for supporting young children’s growth and fostering positive relationships within the community.
• Current Working with Children Check and First Aid certification.
